Music Monday

I heard this song twice on the radio today. The first time I thought to myself, 'Oh this would be a good song for the music Monday segment I do.' But then on my way home, I heard it again and I knew I had to post it for this week's Music Monday.

This song is a great reminder that things can and do get better. Don't lose hope and keep on going, things won't always be bad. I have a friend who last week told me about their depression and how things just weren't good for them right now. If you are in that same spot as my friend where you just want to quit or give up, listen to this song, read the words, and remember that things can and do get better.

"Every Storm (Runs out of Rain)" - Gary Allan

I saw you standing in the middle of the thunder and lightning
I know you're feeling like you just can't win, but you're trying
It's hard to keep on keepin' on, when you're being pushed around
Don't even know which way is up, just keep spinning down, 'round, down…

Every storm runs, runs out of rain

Just like every dark night turns into day
Every heartache will fade away
Just like every storm runs, runs out of rain

So hold your head up and tell yourself that there's something more

Walk out that door
Go find a new rose, don't be afraid of the thorns
'Cause we all have thorns
Just put your feet up to the edge, put your face in the wind
And when you fall back down, keep on rememberin'

Every storm runs, runs out of rain

Just like every dark night turns into day
Every heartache will fade away
Just like every storm runs, runs out of rain

It's gonna run out of pain

It's gonna run out of sting
It's gonna leave you alone
It's gonna set you free
Set you free

Every storm runs, runs out of rain

Just like every dark night turns into day
Every heartache will fade away
Just like every storm runs, runs out of rain

It's gonna set you free,

It's gonna run out of pain,
It's gonna set you free

Wonderful Words Wednesday

"Every day may not be good ... But there's something good in everyday." - Unknown

I saw this quote while scrolling through Facebook and it just made me smile. I decided to post this on my blog  so every time one of my readers (or myself) start to feel like the day just isn't going right, we can pull this post back up and be reminded that there is at least one thing in everyday that is positive. It might be something small, something you might not even realize on any other day. Something that on a good day might not even cross your mind on a day that is considered good. This quote really reminds me and I hope it does so for my readers as well, that its important to remember to stop and appreciate the good things in your life. Or as my grandma says, "Count your blessings." Yes you may have an off day, but that doesn't mean your life is coming to an end. Every day may not be good but that doesn't mean there isn't hope or the chance for something positively to come out of that day.

Was there ever a time in your life where you thought things just weren't going your way? Was there ever a time when things weren't so good but once you started to count all the good things in your life, you started to feel better about your day and maybe even yourself?

When there comes a time when things aren't so good, I encourage you to stop, look around and find something positive in the negativity that surrounds you. Once you start to find the positives, its hard not to notice them and its even harder to stop counting them.

Hope and Love,
Becca

Music Monday "Bring on the Rain"

This week the song I chose is a country song by Jo Dee Messina and it is titled "Bring on the Rain". In some of the past songs I have posted, I have high lighted certain parts that really speak to me, but in this song, every single verse has meaning to me. But I love the whole over all message of this song. Just like last week's song that was about holding on when times got tough, this one is similar to that and I hope that this song will give you strength to pull through whatever you may be going through; and in the future when things get rough again, pull up this song again and re-read it to help give you strength.

Another day has almost come and gone
Can't imagine what else could go wrong
Sometimes I'd like to hide away somewhere and lock the door
A single battle lost but not the war ('cause)

[Chorus:]
Tomorrow's another day
And I'm thirsty anyway
So bring on the rain

It's almost like the hard times circle 'round
A couple drops and they all start coming down
Yeah, I might feel defeated,
And I might hang my head
I might be barely breathing - but I'm not dead, no ('cause)

[Chorus]

I'm not gonna let it get me down
I'm not gonna cry
And I'm not gonna lose any sleep tonight ('cause)

Tomorrow's another day
And I am not afraid
So bring on the rain

[Chorus]

Bring on the rain; bring on the rain

Bring on the rain

Bring on, bring on, the rain
Hope and Love,

20th Birthday

Hi guys,

20th birthday. Wow. It's amazing to think that I have made it to this age. There were several times in my life when my family and doctors weren't so sure that I'd make it this far. And here I am. When I wave give a 13% chance of living to the age of 5, my parents didn't give up. I was lucky to have two parents who sought out doctors who found doctors and specialist who helped me beat those odds by leaps and bounds.

I know that some people say that once they reach a certain age, they stop celebrating birthdays or that they are no longer a big deal to them. Some people will even lie about their age, wanting to be younger. I know that I will never ever do that. Each year that I grow older, I will happily celebrate it because  I know that birthdays are not a guarantee. Some people hate the idea of growing old. I just hope that I will be able to live long enough to grow old.

I have learned that each day is a gift and not something to taken for granted. Life is supposed to be celebrated and every year when I reach yet another age, I will do just that. Yes there are times in life that are hard and there are ups and downs in everyone's life. When I start to feel sorry for myself and complain about how things are going in my life; I remind myself to be thankful that I am at least alive.

To me life is too short to sit around and complain. It is too short to spend your life looking at the glass half empty. People say life is a roller coaster and I agree. It's a roller coaster and we only get one shot at this ride, so why not put your hands in the air and enjoy every twist and turn that heads your way? It takes more muscles and effort to frown than it does to smile. So why not smile? Laughing is proven to not only burn calories but to actually help your mood improve. So why not look at the world with humor instead of negativity? Since we only get a short amount of time on this planet, why don't we try to enjoy it while we can? That's what I try to do, and I invite you guys to do as well.

Hope and Love,
Becca
